Hello everyone, my name is Robyn Fox and I’m from St Andrew, Jamaica. I am the owner of EITS Café, located at 17 Mile Post in the Blue Mountains.

17 Mile Post - Mount Edge Guest House, Food Basket Farm & EITS Café has been a beloved spot for years, a place that brings people together through farm-to-table meals, breathtaking mountain views, good music, vibes and genuine Jamaican culture. Our small team has poured their hearts into growing this beautiful gem in the mountains.

Unfortunately, Hurricane Melissa caused severe damage to both the café and the surrounding property. We’re now faced with the overwhelming task of rebuilding our home, farm, and business from the ground up.

We aim to raise $70,000 CAD (≈ $50,000 USD) to help cover the following urgent needs:

• Supporting our staff with temporary salaries, food, and household supplies while operations are paused

• Structural & Soil Engineers to assess land and existing building safety

• Reinforcement of all existing structures for future stability

• Replacement of the deck roof (completely destroyed) and strengthening of the deck & bar cart area

• Replacement of all pipes and water systems from the catchment to the property — everything was lost

• Electrical rewiring for the entire property, including two light posts

• Rebuilding retaining walls to prevent erosion and further land slippage

• Farm cleanup and replanting after losing all plastic houses and crops

• Repairing the river pathway, which suffered major breakaways

• Replacing the kitchen roof and fixing leaks

• Rebuilding the bathroom walkway

• Repairing one of our guest cottages, which lost its roof and glass windows

• Reconstructing the packaging house and storage shed, and replacing lost tools and plumbing materials

Every dollar raised will go directly toward rebuilding EITS Café and supporting our staff and community as we recover from this disaster.
