If you are reading this, I first want to say thank you for taking the time and reading what I have to say. My name is Denise and I have known the Eissler’s for 3 years while living at Fort Polk, LA.
As we all know, Hurricane Laura came and left her presence in the Southeast border of Texas and Louisiana. She left hundreds and thousands of people with damaged homes and they’re now estimating many families to go without power for a minimum of 2 weeks. Many families out in Fort Polk, LA. to be exact. One of these hundreds of families, happens to be my best friend and her family, Tiaja and her husband Tyler share a beautiful 4 year old boy, Braylen. They prepared for the hurricane several days before, but they were not prepared for a tree to hit the roof of their house, making their ceiling cave in. I pray and thank the lord they are all safe! Everything else is replaceable, of course.
Earlier today on the phone, she asked me a question I wasn’t ready for..”what did I do so wrong for this to happen to me and my family?” This family has been through unthinkable hurdles just being at Fort Polk and Hurricane Laura was just the cherry on top.
I’m normally not the person to publicize this kind of stuff, but I am going out of my comfort zone and asking my friends and family for help. To help this beautiful family whom my husband and I called family for the entire time we spent at Fort Polk.Tiaja is the most selfless and caring human being with the kindest soul who I have ever met. She has helped me and my family countless times, never expecting any favors in return. She is not the one to ever ask for
help, but I am asking for her. Her and Tyler don’t even know I am doing this for them, as I want to give them a sliver of hope at the end of all of this.
All the food they have prepared beforehand, is now wasted due to the power surge. They are currently in temporary housing, where they only have bare necessities. Any and every donation will go towards replacing groceries, funds for a generator, and anything else the family may need as they wait for news about their home and belongings. With everything she has done for me and my family, starting this fundraiser won’t even come close to returning any favors. Again, I appreciate you all and stay safe.
