30 student members of Einstein S.T.A.G.E, along with 7 adult chaperones and mentors, will spend two weeks in the UK, including a 2-day visit to London. The 11- day Edinburgh itinerary includes four performances for the Fringe Festival and a complete immersion into the biggest performing arts event in the world. We are proud to announce that we'll be producing A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD "“ a charming and hilarious Broadway musical for kids!
While we are in the UK we will have the opportunity to participate in a number of other events that will introduce the students to the rich culture and wondrous natural beauty of Scotland.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students, and we have been working throughout the year to raise funds to help defray the expenses of the project. So far we have raised over $145,000 through a variety of special events! Here's a sampling "“
*A series of "Coffee House" Performances, featuring STAGE members, members of the general AEHS student population, musical theatre students and guest artists
*Special performance events like "Almost, Maine" and student singer-songwriter appearances
*An Alumni Cabaret that featured former Einstein performers from the 70s through the most recent graduating class
*"Pizza Wednesdays" - weekly after school pizza sales coordinated by parents and run by parents and Scotland travelers
* A Silent Auction organized by the parents and held in conjunction with our sping musical, BRIGADOON
*Restaurant nights at Silver Diner and Elevation Burger
*Program advertising and audience donations at our fall play and spring musical
*Product fundraisers including citrus fruit, pizza, cookie dough and personal care products
*Contributions from our traveling families
Thank you for your help sofar in making this trip possible for us - we are still actively seeking funds to help some of our travelers meet expenses, and to meet production expenses of bringing FROG AND TOAD to life!
(the company of the Spring Musical, BRIGADOON)
Over the 50-year history of Albert Einstein High School, the theatre program has served thousands of students with a quality performing arts experience, and has thrilled audiences with entertaining, inspiring and high spirited work. We expect that tradition to continue long into the future!
Also, in the past five theatre seasons Einstein S.T.A.G.E. has contributed almost $25,000.00 to various local and worldwide charitable organizations. These contributions have been made possible by the generous support of patrons at our fall and spring shows
We would be truly honored if you could make a contribution of any kind to help us reach our goal! Our students and their families have been working hard all year to make this experience happen for our students, and your donation, no matter how large or small, will get us that much closer to our goal of total funding for this unique opportunity.
Please consider giving a donation in honor of a current, future or former Einstein student, or just to support a bunch of really great kids who will be diving head first into the center of the performing arts universe! THANK YOU!
This fundraising project is sponsored by PACE (Performing Arts Coalition of Einstein).
