Diesen Widerspruch will ich beenden.

Sie gehört jedem und niemandem. Jeder darf sie drucken, verkaufen, übersetzen, verändern. Niemand muss mich fragen.

Als PDF ist sie kostenlos. Sie war es immer. Sie bleibt es.

Was drinsteht:

Frag nicht.

Wer dir ein Buch in drei Sätzen erklärt, hat es dir weggenommen. Was du danach liest, ist nur noch die Prüfung der drei Sätze.

Manche legen es nach zehn Seiten weg. Manche lesen es dreimal. Beide haben recht.

Es ist kein Ratgeber. Es tröstet nicht. Es will dir nichts verkaufen — es kann ja nicht einmal sich selbst verkaufen.

Die erste Seite kostet nichts und dauert zwei Minuten. Danach brauchst du mich nicht mehr zu fragen.

Was ich tue:

Seit Monaten bin ich unterwegs. Ein Fahrrad, ein Anhänger, ein Stapel Bücher, eine Gitarre. Ich schlafe draussen.

Ich binde die Bücher von Hand. Papier, Schrauben durch den Rücken, der Schnitt rot gestrichen. Ich stelle mich an eine Strasse, rede mit Menschen und gebe weiter, was ich dabeihabe.

Nur gebe ich es nicht mehr. Ich verkaufe es.

Nicht aus Gier. Papier kostet. Farbe kostet. Der Einband kostet. Jedes Exemplar, das ich jemandem in die Hand drücke, muss bezahlt sein, bevor es existiert — und ich habe kein Einkommen.

Also nehme ich Geld für etwas, das niemandem gehört. Jedes Mal.

Leben / das Nötigste: ~CHF 8'000

Damit ich die Bücher auf der Strasse verschenken kann. Ohne Preis, ohne Kasse, ohne die Frage, ob jemand es sich leisten kann.

Wer über die Website bestellt, kauft weiterhin — das trägt sich selbst. Es geht um die Hand, die es weitergibt.

Ein alter Bus Kauf, MFK, Versicherung, Steuer, erste Reparaturen,

Betrieb, Treibstoff und Unterhalt für die kommenden Jahre.

Druck Papier, Farbe, Einband — der grösste Posten und der einzige, der zählt.

Leben Essen und das Nötigste, damit ich nicht weiter verkaufen muss.

Kein Camper, kein Ausbau, nichts Schönes. Ein fahrbarer Kasten, in dem hunderte Bücher trocken bleiben statt zwanzig, und in dem ich schlafen kann, wenn es schneit.

Was du dafür bekommst:

Nichts und alles. Das PDF liegt schon da, kostenlos, seit dem ersten Tag. Du kannst es holen und dieses Fenster schliessen, und niemand wird es dir übelnehmen.

Wer hier gibt, kauft kein Buch. Er kauft ein Buch frei — für jemanden, den er nie treffen wird.

What's inside:

Don't ask.

Whoever explains a book to you in three sentences has taken it from you. What you read afterwards is only a test of those three sentences.

Some put it down after ten pages. Some read it three times. Both are right.

It is not a guide. It offers no comfort. It has nothing to sell you — it can't even sell itself.

The first page costs nothing and takes two minutes. After that you won't need to ask me.

What I do:

I've been on the road for months. A bicycle, a trailer, a stack of books, a guitar. I sleep outside.

I bind the books by hand. Paper, bolts through the spine, the edges painted red. I stand at a roadside, talk to people, and hand on what I'm carrying.

Except I don't hand it on anymore. I sell it.

Not out of greed. Paper costs. Ink costs. The binding costs. Every copy I press into someone's hand has to be paid for before it exists — and I have no income.

So I take money for something that belongs to no one. Every single time.

So I can give the books away on the road. No price, no till, no question of whether someone can afford it.

Anyone ordering through the website still buys — that carries itself. This is about the hand that passes it on.

Printing Paper, ink, binding — the largest item and the only one that counts.

Living Food and the basics, so I don't have to start selling again.

Not a camper, not a conversion, nothing pretty. A box on wheels where hundreds of books stay dry instead of twenty, and where I can sleep when it snows.

What you get:

Nothing and everything. The PDF is already there, free, since day one. You can take it and close this window, and no one will hold it against you.

Whoever gives here isn't buying a book. They're buying a book free — for someone they will never meet.
