In memory of Eilis Mackie

Eilis fought an incredibly brave battle with cancer, she faced it with tremendous dignity and strength. We all prayed she would recover from this but she sadly passed away on the 30th December at Princess Alice Hospice. We all take comfort from Eilis now being free from pain but the sadness of losing her feels so very unfair and hard to comprehend.

Many of us at St Albans have lost a very dear and wonderful friend and we wish to express our support and deepest condolences to her beautiful family.

Eilis was a mum to her two beautiful daughters, Amelie (now in year 8 but previously at St Albans) and Orla, who is in year 6. She also leaves behind her husband Ryan who was chair of FOSA for several years.

As a midwife, Eilis dedicated herself to looking after others and was the kindest and funniest person. We feel grateful for her friendship and so lucky to have been blessed with her company.

We would like to offer this collection to provide some support and comfort to Ryan, Amelie and Orla whilst they begin navigating their next steps. We hope they know how much we all care and how much we all loved Eilis and how we will miss her.
