Founded in December 2024, EILERS Dance Theatre stands in a season of transformation; not an ending, not a beginning, but the strange and necessary in-between.
A note from Sid Ryan Eilers, founder and creator:
For 25 years, I have stumbled, failed, and begun again. I have written countless grants that never landed, performed in near-empty theatres, and walked away from projects that broke me. I have also received ovations, letters of thanks, and invitations that once felt like impossible dreams.
Failure has been my compost. Every rejection has turned the soil. And now, something is growing.
Invitations are arriving: to tour Kiss The Stormy Sky across Canada, to create Fancy Cat for children who deserve to see themselves shine, to premiere Dangerous Vacancies at The Citadel in 2027, to teach, create and perform in Austria this December. To build a Creative Hub on the lands of Second Nature Farm.
It feels like flight after years of crawling. But to rise into this moment, I cannot do it alone.

Frog In Hand’s beloved geodom is being displaced. We’re fundraising $6,000 to move it to Second Nature Farm, where it will become a creative hub for residencies, performances, and community gatherings. This dome is more than a structure — it is a living container for art, play, and transformation. Your gift helps us preserve this magical space and replant it where creativity can flourish.
Canadian arts funding is under threat, with a proposed 15% cut to arts, culture, and heritage programs. Cuts like these mean fewer resources for queer and trans stories, fewer programs for kids who need belonging, fewer chances to share our voices on stages at home and abroad.
The arts are not a luxury. They are lifelines. They hold memory, identity, joy, grief, and the courage to keep going. Without them, voices like ours risk falling silent.
