My mother Eileen is a fighter, a true survivor. Since 2003, she has dealt with a blood clotting disorder which caused two pulmonary embolisms, breast cancer, mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, lymphedema,  and kidney issues. Believe it or not, there is even more that I could list! 

You might have thought this would be enough for one person to bear, however she faced her biggest health crisis at the end of December 2014. She was diagnosed with what is commonly referred to as a flesh-eating bacteria on her abdomen. After 5 surgeries in two different hospitals which included over a week in ICU, she was released to a rehab facility in early February 2015.  She is currently still in rehab, and recently celebrated her birthday (see picture) with the new friends she has made there.  

Keeping her fighting spirit, she has made great strides in her recovery. We are so thankful for the prayers and positive thoughts from our friends and family as well as grateful for the medical care she has received. She looks forward to the day she can go home, play in the dirt with her flowers,  and cuddle with her cat, Tigger. 

As you might imagine, though, the medical bills have really started to add up. Any and all donations would be truly appreciated. Thank you for helping this remarkable woman!  I am so proud to call her my mother.
