I am Laura Denkler, I am setting up this account for Lisa and Scott Eiken and their family. All funds will be directly sent to the account they designate. I have known this family for well over 2 years, but they have become family to us. I wanted to help them and with their permission have set up this GoFund Me account.
The Eiken family has had their lion's share of struggles, yet continued to be a light for others, giving of their time, gifts and home to our family and I know many others. Lisa lost her job which was the main income for the family in August 2016. Bills have become harder and harder to meet as Lisa looks diligently for sufficient work outside of the home where she was working and assisting with chronic family wellness concerns. Scott is a devoted husband and dad with physical disability that keeps him from work outside the home and provides full-time family care. The whole family has health concerns, the most recent is Lisa's Rheumatoid Arthritis battle. They are devoted parents of 5 children, 2 out of home, 3 who are still in their care and have unique needs of their own that are very time consuming. With limited health insurance for Lisa and Scott and no income things have become very tight, but they continue to offer what they can and more to others.
The Eiken's home burned down about 4 years ago this time of year and yet they use their struggles as a testimony and inspiration to others. I am honored to set this GoFundMe account for them during this time of financial struggle while Lisa is out of employment. I know while this family experiences their daily struggles, which they battle with grace, we can pay-it-forward by being examples of all the kindness and unselfish care they give to others.
