Eiji Tanaka was our neighbor when our family started to live in Haleiwa, Hawaii 30 years ago. He has been working as a Sushi chef at Japanese restaurant and enjoyed surfing and golf. He moved to Honolulu and got married but we still keep in touch with him.
From July 2018, suddenly his hands and feet became numb without any reason. He went to several physicians but they could not find a name of the decease.
From September 2018, his numbness got worth and he could not stand at Sushi counter to cook any more. Since he is not able to work as Sushi Chef, he lost his medical insurance coverage.
One of his physicians finally found out that he has a rare blood disorder - monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS). He uses wheelchair now and he has difficulty in taking shower or using bathroom.
He still has a hope to use medication it might be effective to this difficult decease. Please give him a chance to walk and be able to go back to work. Please share this page or it would be great if you could make a donation.

30年前、田中エイジ氏は私達がハワイ州ハレイワ町に住み始めた頃、ご近所に住んでおられました。彼は日本食レストランで寿司シェフとして勤務しており、休日はサーフィンとゴルフを楽しんでいました。彼がホノルルに引っ越し結婚した後も交流は続いていました。
ところが2018年7月頃より彼は両手両足に麻痺を感じ始めました。そして医者にかかりましたが原因はわからないと医師から言われました。
2018年9月頃より両手両足の麻痺の度合いが増え、立ち仕事が不可能になってきたため寿司シェフの仕事が続けられなくなり、退職する事になりました。アメリカでは仕事を失うと、翌月から健康保険会社との契約も失ってしまいます。
ある医師が彼の病名は『意義不明の単クローン性ガンマグロブリン血症』と言う血液の病気であると診断されました。難病ですがその病気のための薬が発見され、点滴で麻痺が治った患者さんも数名おられるようです。
エイジさんにもう一度歩けるようになってお寿司を作る仕事に、サーフィンに復帰してくれることを願っています。どうか皆様、このページをシェアしていただきますよう、できれば寄付の方も宜しくお願い致します。
