Avoiding Homelessness
2014 has been a tough year for Tony and me.
Dog killed. Evicted from our home. Relocated to Washington State.
Thanks to many generous folks, we were able to raise the funds we needed to make the move, and we are forever grateful for the help.
...The truth is, our (my) need continues.
I lost the availability of odd-jobs to provide for my needs.
I applied for SSDI before I left California, but that is a long process, complicated by the move to another State.
I receive food-stamps, so I’m not going to starve. My medical needs are covered by the Veterans Administration. I have clothes. I do not require nor desire extravagance.
My cousin and her fiancé were good enough to offer a place to live at a reasonable rent. Tony’s on a fixed income, and is covering his half of the rent +, however, it just isn’t enough. Katie & Krag aren’t in a position to accept half of what we agreed to for rent, or to wait around until I get some cash flow.
The LAST thing I want is for them to have to even consider eviction. I would be crushed if business interfered with family; I don’t believe I would survive that blow.
At this time of year, our entire nation is asked to give to the less fortunate; kids, homeless, hungry folks unknown to most of us.
I am asking for your help once again.
Won’t you please consider helping us out? Folks you know? Folks in serious need?
