New Berlin Eisenhower High School Sparkle Cheer Team has been invited to perform during the ICU World Championships to demonstrate the important Special Abilities Unified Division to the 80 nations in attendance to further promote this important and inclusive initiative.
Additionally, at this time there is a possibility that we could be chosen as the official US National Team is the newly created Special Athlete Unified Division. The selection process and final decisions will happen in the coming weeks.
About Us – The Sparkle team was formed in October 2017 after a varsity cheerleader asked how some of the girls she knew at school who loved to cheer could be included on a cheer team. Their special abilities and cognitive delays prevented them from participating with the varsity team, yet they wanted to be a part of the program. After much discussion with the high school, the athletic department and interested students the program launched under the Faculty Guidance of Jody Brill, Special Education Assistant. Jody is a former cheerleader and cheer judge. This cheer history helped to bring our group to the attention of the ICU.
The girls are all excited about traveling to Florida for the big performance. Since the program is so new, we have no built up funds to help us with this trip. ICU is offering some support once we get to the venue, but transportation, food, uniforms, bow and other items all fall to the Sparkle team to provide.
Please help us raise the needed funds to make this trip possible. Any amount will help us get closer to our goal and make our dreams come true. We will be traveling to Florida in April.
Our team showcases our individual talents and abilities and is proud to be a UNITED TEAM.
