Hi my name is Donna Codling
Most of you know that my sister Sarah had a heart transplant 9 years ago.
Sadly in January this year she was told she has disease of the arteries called CAV (Cardiac allograft vasculopathy)
It basically means that she is in chronic rejection.
A day we have all dreaded since the start of Sarah's transplant journey 10 years ago.
Her amazing team sat down with Sarah and were brutally honest about what this all means, as she bravely asked about her future.
Without going into too much detail, let's just say she needs to really enjoy the next couple years and make lots of memories with her Son Jake and husband Damon.
As you all know Sarah has her own little page "Sarah's Hampers For Hearts" and has made such a difference in the transplant community in the last 6 years. She sends care packages/goodie hampers to adults and children awaiting transplants around the country. She has put so many smiles on people's faces during their hard times.
Over the last 9 years, Sarah has raised over 15 thousand pounds towards the vital "Heart in a Box" and towards the Transplant centre at the QE.
Now it's our turn to help her and her family make some memories.
###Sarah's health hasn't been the best for the last couple of years due to other issues caused by the transplant itself and the anti rejection medication.
Sarah has a few things on her "bucket list" and we would be so so grateful for any help towards fulfilling her small but special dreams.
Thank you all so much for your continued support.
