Kiera Newsome was wrongfully accused of a crime of murder at the tender age of seventeen years old. She has fought for her life and freedom for over 18 years with the help of her family and a full team of pro bono lawyers of Loyola University and California Innocence project. Kiera has been partially exonerated for the crimes she was convicted of but she still has a long battle of fully getting her conviction over turned. During her time in jail, her time was not wasted on self pity or anger with the justice system. This young lady kept her head up and strived to complete goals she set for herself. She attained her H.S diploma as well as an associate degree, during this time she also participated in many self improvement courses that was available to her. While in these class she often lead the group and help mentor other young inmates as they entered the system and struggle to adapt to their new environment. Kiera has been released from prison but she is still fighting for her innocence. Please help Kiera Newsome with funding to smoothly transition back into society she is on a journey to tell her story, finish her education and help other rehabilitated inmates transition back into society.
