My name is Jamie Campbell and I've lived in the same home for 30 years. I moved to Casper from Cheyenne in 1994 with my partner, Cindy. She passed away in 2013. Soon after, an angel came into my life and helped me as a roommate first and a loving companion until she passed on March 28, 2023. This was not an easy year for me.

I live with MS, Asthma, ADHD, Diabetes, Cirrhosis, Macular Degeneration, and I'm a 4-year breast cancer survivor. I am not lazy. I'm usually one of the busiest people I know, with at least 4 to 6 projects going on at any given time. My age seems to be catching up with me lately. Or maybe it's the grief and depression. In the past year, I've lost a dog, two cats, my partner, and one of my best friends. The last cat is still in a box in the shed waiting for cremation.

I haven't had time for grief. Michele and I had a friend staying with us when she died. He agreed to stay as a roommate and pay rent. That worked out for a few months, and then he ran into some financial difficulties. Around that time, an old friend of mine became homeless. With her daughter being only 17 and having three dogs, I took in her daughter and daughter's friend and 3 dogs. My tenant left without notice or rent. A woman then moved in and has been helping out as best she can. Her boyfriend has been helping her.

I applied for assistance with the mortgage in August through the Wyoming Household Assistance Fund. I somehow screwed up the signature page on Docusign and couldn't get back into the web page to fix it, so it got canceled. I applied again in October, and again in December. Why can't they make these online applications easier for us older folks?

In the meantime, I'm working with the mortgage company as best I can, but on Tuesday I received a letter from an attorney saying that my house would be going up for auction on February 1st. So I need an attorney, preferably a bankruptcy attorney, to help me figure out my options. Attorneys cost money and I don't know how much it will take, so I set the amount high but I don't expect much. The girls and I will be grateful for any assistance you can give.
