Help Heather Recover and Rebuild Her Life
Donation protected
Update 2-14-2025
Heather is still in the hospital unable to move too much on her own. She did get the results of her breast biopsy and it came back non-cancerous BUT we still don’t have any idea of what is going on and what happens next. They did put a port in today to continuously give her antibiotics. They are continuing too run more tests trying to find the root cause. Her hemoglobin did thankfully raise to 8 after tons of blood transfusions and iron. We’re making progress but not quite where we need to be for a discharge.
We are heading into the 2nd week of Heather having no income and she has another car payment of $350 coming due next Friday ( She pays bi-weekly).
I want to thank everyone who has donated thus far and shared. We appreciate each and every one of you. Every dollar helps keep her from losing her vehicle and helps get her into her own place.
Her son Liam wants his mom home so bad.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Heather is a kind, loving woman who has hit a really hard time. She has had medical needs she’s pushed off for a long time to continue working 60-100 hours a week and has worked herself to almost death.
Heather is a traveling contract CNA and while on contract had lost a lot of blood over time due to wounds she was trying to heal on her own so she could continue to work. Due to this, her hemoglobin levels and iron levels have significantly dropped to deathly levels.
On Saturday, February 8th, 2024, I had not heard from Heather all day, which is really unlike her. Her location never moved. All our normal friends she talks to hadn’t heard from her either. She had told me the night before she wasn’t feeling well and my mom instinct kicked in and thankfully it did. I called for a wellness check on her. When police arrived, they heard her yelling for help and had to kick the door to her room in to urgently get to her. Heather had become so weak that she had fallen in the shower and couldn’t get back up. She was lying under cold water for over 7 hours before help arrived. When the EMS got to her, they said any longer and she would have been dead. She had been crying alone, pounding on the shower walls, screaming for someone to help her for 7 hours and not one person in the hotel bothered to help her or call for help.
She was rushed to the hospital and given a CT and labs to find out what happened. They immediately started giving her blood transfusions as well as iron, IV fluids, and multiple vitamins to supplement all that she had lost. On top of all of this, she has influenza A.
On Monday, they took her into surgery to debride the wounds she had to get any possible infection out as well as biopsy for potential cancer.
During this time that she’s been in the hospital, unfortunately, she was fired from her contract and has no means to support herself at this current time.
We have no hospital release date. Heather is going to be off work for at least a few weeks to a month. She is going to be loaded with hospital bills after this and unfortunately, I just cannot float the money to help her as we have two autistic children that require constant care, making it hard for me to work full time.
Heather will need to move from West Virginia where her contract was to Kansas to stay with us while she gets back on her feet to get her own apartment. (We’ve found one; she just will have to save for the $600 rent + $600 deposit)
We are asking anyone that can to help her in this time of need as she would literally give the clothes off her back to anyone she could if she had it. If you can’t directly donate, PLEASE SHARE.
Her car payment is roughly $700 a month. Phone is $160. Insurance $150. $100 gas. Current meds are around $100 a month (we won’t know what additional meds she will be on until discharge) and she roughly spends $150-200 on groceries per month.
Her car payment was due this week but due to her feeling ill last week, she didn’t get all her hours at work and they don’t give much time to make a late payment.
