Support AJ’s Medical Recovery Journey

Hi everyone,

I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of our father, A.J. Maull, who is currently facing some serious health challenges. My dad is a stage 4 kidney failure patient and undergoes dialysis three times a week. On June 1st, he was admitted to the hospital for what started as a toe injury — an injury that we quickly found out was much more serious.

The infection from his toe spread to the bone, requiring the amputation of his right big toe. Unfortunately, after being discharged, he’s been readmitted to the hospital two more times due to continued infection — and now, the infection has reached his other toes. Because of his kidney condition, the types of medications he can receive are limited, and the antibiotics currently being used aren’t stopping the spread.

Doctors are now considering a full amputation of the remaining toes on his right foot or placing him on intensive IV antibiotics for six weeks — both extremely difficult paths, physically and emotionally. And even with these options, neither may still solve the problem.

We are trying to raise money to cover:

• His ongoing medications

• Home health care needs

• Transportation to and from dialysis and hospital appointments

• Time off work that we must take to be his full-time caregiver

• Daily meal preparation

Our dad is proud and has never been one to ask for help — but right now, he truly needs it. Every donation, prayer, well-wish, phone call, or visit means more than we can say.
