Kelvin suffered life threatening burns when a worker at Wendy’s in Tazewell, Virginia started a fight and threw a ladle of hot fryer grease at his face and trunk.

He was taken by helicopter to VCU burn center in Richmond, VA and endured a 6 hour skin graft surgery on Monday, August 22 and is still hospitalized.

The assailant, who was also carrying brass knuckles and incited the fight by throwing a foil wrapped hot baked potato at him, is in jail with no bond, charged with Malicious Wounding.

Kelvin is a logger working for Clinch River Forest Products and it is not known yet when he will be able to work again.

He is a father, son, fiance, brother, nephew, uncle and friend.
