Through the urbanisation of the south-east corridor, the Club has experienced difficult times with many Juniors and other players choosing to play closer to home within the ever expanding corridors.
But we will fight on. To Survive, and to Thrive. And to be the great, successful Club we once were.
We have been organising fundraising activities and will continue to in an attempt to raise the funds needed to survive and thrive. We will work hard to achieve this goal because there are enough of us currently involved in the Club who believe it is worth saving, and continuing to provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to play cricket.
In an aim to create a positive future and atmosphere, the club committee has reaffirmed its commitment to continue to play in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association for next season. WE will only be able to do this if we raise the necessary funds!
Endeavour Hills Cricket Club has wonderful facilities that continue to improve, a number of promising juniors who provide a sense of optimism for the future, and a rich history of on field success and off field enjoyment and companionship – it is worth the effort to aim to raise it back into being a strong and successful cricket club.
To do that we will need to raise more than the $15,000 required to see out this year. To ensure we ‘Survive’ AND ‘Thrive’ we need to raise another $10,000!
These funds will allow us to fulfill our plans for the future with confidence. They will allow us to know what we have in the bank and what we can spend. Our normal fundraising will then aim to raise funds for the following season and to build a reserve for special projects or for times such as these.
Despite the concerns we face we continue to plan for next season. This includes:
- Having a detailed Action Plan that focuses on strategies for improvement in Financial Management, Player Retention and Recruitment, Sponsorship, Communication and Social and Fundraising activities,
- Aiming to bring a former player back to the club as Senior Coach,
- Seeking to contact former players and encouraging them back to the club as players or social members,
- Continuing to give our younger players the opportunity to develop their skills at the highest and most appropriate level possible.
We ask that you contribute what you can to help us, and all donations of any amount are hugely appreciated.
