This is insane to be asking for help from friends...but being without a car in a place that does not have accessible public transit is a nightmare challenge. My car is in the shop, and has a new engine...and the guy wants the $3000 up front. He won't take payments. It feels like having wheels under me is just within reach and yet out of reach.
