Update
Good Morning,
It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Rodney, who fought a courageous battle with cancer. Though the journey was long, his strength, resilience, & unwavering love for his family carried him through to the very end.
If you feel moved to support Melanie and the girls during this difficult time, there are several ways to help. Go Fund me, Door Dash, Whole Foods or Hy-Vee gift cards are meaningful options that help ease the daily load. At this time, please give the family some space. What we know is the celebration of life will be planned for Sunday July 20th, 2025. More details to come. Thank you for keeping the entire White Family in your thoughts and surrounding them with love.
If you need address or any information you can contact Cassie Jetter.
As many of you know, Rodney has owned a group of successful Chiropractic Clinics in the Omaha area. Rodney and Melanie have been married for several years and have two young daughters. They are a phenomenal family that gives back, offers support, and gets involved any chance they get.
Approximately two years ago, Rodney had a mole removed that confirmed Melanoma. At that time, he had a PET scan that showed no spreading. After having their second child in March 2023, sweet Lila, he found a lump under his arm. He thought it was just an inflamed lymph node. He had a scan in December which confirmed the Melanoma had spread throughout his body; however, the cancer had not spread to his brain at that time. He started treatment and while they were visiting his family in Australia in early April 2024, Rodney suffered a massive seizure.
The doctors confirmed the devastating news that the cancer had spread to his brain. Rodney underwent emergency surgery to remove a large tumor pressing on the cerebellum blocking the fluid exchange to/from his brain, causing extreme pain and increasing the pressure in his brain. On Monday, April 8, 2024, the surgeon successfully removed that tumor and By the Grace of God, he was cleared to fly to the United States to get back to Melanie and the girls, on April 28th. Following the surgery, the Melanoma Institute (in Australia) confirmed the cancer was too far advanced to save him, and was given approximately 6 weeks, at most.
Anyone who knows Rodney knows this was not an acceptable answer. The family made a plan and immediately flew him to Life Works in Clearwater, FL, where he is under the care of Dr. Minkoff. Melanie and Lila flew down to meet Rodney and his parents. Ellie is trying to finish up her school year and will be flying with Melanie’s parents to reunite them as a family!
Right now, the word is HOPE. It is our only option!
Rodney will continue with treatment in Clearwater through the summer and fight to overcome this! In order for him to receive this potentially lifesaving treatment, we need your help. Rodney is the primary provider for his family and as you can imagine, they are financially overwhelmed as this treatment is very costly and they are incurring additional expenses they normally would not be dealing with. Thank you for any contribution you are able to make. This is a vulnerable position for anyone to be in. We are asking for your support and help in any way possible!
