From Samantha:

My father was a proud Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Navy, but above all, he was proud to be a dad. Anyone who knew him remembers his happy-go-lucky spirit, his love of staying active, and the way he naturally brought people together. He really knew how to turn any frown upside-down.

He leaves behind my brothers Michael, Jason, and William, along with me, and his five grandchildren.

My father was truly my best friend. I was also his caretaker in recent years, a role that brought us even closer and allowed me to be there for him in a way I’ll always be grateful for.

Before his passing, he had been looking forward to relocate to California to be closer to his grandchildren. This loss was unexpected and heartbreaking for all of us. We loved him deeply, and it brings comfort knowing how many others cared about him too. 

We are doing our best to navigate everything that comes with a sudden loss. Any support you’re able to offer will help us manage the unexpected expenses related to the funeral and closing out my father’s affairs. Funds will go toward funeral services, burial costs, transportation, memorial arrangements, cleaning out his apartment, and any other unforeseen needs that arise. Any remaining funds will be used to support his grandchildren and their future education.

He also leaves behind his two young cats who are in need of a permanent, loving home. If you or someone you know is looking to adopt, it would mean so much to find them a safe and caring place.
