Help Egypt heal from a transphobic assault and survive the pandemic!
My friend Egypt was assaulted last week and suffered a lacerated hand and loss of feeling in one finger as a result. We are incredibly grateful she is alive, and we are once again asking for community to come together to help provide Egypt with life-saving resources because #BlackTransLivesMatter.
Egypt is in desperate need of money for food, medicine, and cleaning supplies since she lost her food stamps and cash assistance benefits at the beginning of the pandemic. With an injured hand, these needs are all the more serious. Please help us ensure her ongoing safety by providing financial support!

About Miss Egypt Dior:
Egypt was born and raised in Bedstuy, Brooklyn. In early 2018 Egypt was released on parole after nearly 20 years of incarceration, including time spent on Rikers and upstate at Attica. Like many previously incarcerated women, Egypt has struggled over the past two years to secure income, housing, and general safety, especially as a Black transgender woman. She has faced discrimination from employers, landlords, and non-profit organizations. Egypt hopes to one day be a lawyer and enjoys playing acoustic guitar.
Last year our 6 month crowdfunding campaign for Egypt resulted in her securing safe, long-term housing with a city voucher and starting school at Columbia University. This would not have been possible without community support!
Any amount helps keep Egypt healthy and safe!
Please give if you are able and SHARE!
In solidarity,
Mia
