Support the Funk Family’s Battle with Cancer

Friends of the Funk Family have created this GoFundMe in the hopes that we can help relieve some of the financial burden of the medical and life expenses that the family will incur over the next few months.

A note from the family on their journey thus far:

“On February 24, 2025, Rick was taken to the hospital after experiencing significant breathing issues. They took x-rays and completed an ultrasound. That evening, they removed five liters of fluid from his lung.

The next day, body scans showed masses on his kidney, liver, and lung. A few days later, Rick was diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma. They explained that the cancer had started in his kidney and then moved to nearby organs.

Rick’s treatment plan includes Double Immunotherapy. We hope this treatment will extend his life past the average survival rate for this type of cancer.”

As you can imagine, the Funk Family has been devastated by this diagnosis. Our goal with this GoFundMe is to help lighten their load, so they can focus on spending quality time together rather than medical expenses such as premiums, deductibles, and co-pays. Funds raised will also support the family with living, transportation, and educational expenses.

The Funk Family is so grateful for all your positivity and love and are humbled by the friends and family who have reached out to help.
