I'm Melissa, a bus driver who loves her job. But two months ago, my life changed when I was diagnosed with CIDP, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. This rare disease has left me unable to walk, and I need a special wheelchair to move around by myself.
Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't Cover a motorized wheelchair, without a ramp or a lift at my home. They want to discharge me from the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago, where I'm getting the best therapy possible, but I have no way of getting out of my house without help.
That's why I'm asking for your kindness and generosity to help me raise $8000 for a ramp or a lift that would allow me to continue my therapy and live independently. This would make a huge difference in my quality of life and give me hope for the future.
I hope you can see how much this means to me and how grateful I would be for any support you can offer. You have the power to change my life for the better.
Thank you so much for reading my message and considering my request.
Sincerely,
Melissa
