Philip Murray Runs Boston Marathon

Dear friends and family,
I began this journey about a decade ago, when Bishop Hendricken High School opened it's doors to a ground- breaking new Options program. Now in it's eighth year, with 12 students, the Options program is a highly successful modified inclusion program for young men who have significant learning challenges.
A remarkable 3 years later, I became the first Options graduate! My search for an appropriate post secondary college experience was quite challenging to say the least. Eventually I was accepted into the highly respected and competitive Threshold program at Boston's Lesley University. Now I find myself living on my own and enjoying my work as a full-time preschool teacher's assistant at Bright Horizons in Boston.
One of the most important motivators for me, which has helped keep me focused throughout these experiences, has been my love of running. After I took up running, it soon became my dream to run in the most famous marathon this side of the Olympics, The Boston Marathon.
I have chosen to compete in order to support the educational efforts within the Alumni Association of Providence College, in gratitude to my friend Mr. Charlie Alagero '78, who supported and facilitated my search for a BIB # in this years Boston Marathon. PC is a well respected institution with a proud history of working with students with various academic needs.
I know first hand how hard it is to reach an academic goal and I now have a financial goal for Providence College , $10,000! Please help me reach my goal, keep me in your prayers and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
