Prayers and Support for Dane

Aloha Family and Friends,

We are reaching out to all of you on behalf of our dear friend and brother-in-Christ, Dane Ison. Earlier this week, Dane suffered a medical incident, and he is currently in the hospital receiving medical care.

Dane has lived his life to serve others and his musical talents and his willingness to share his gifts with the community, church, and the next generation have impacted countless individuals both here in Hawai’i and beyond.

Over the last 35+ years, while a band instructor at Waialua High School, as the Director of YPAC at New Hope O’ahu, and most recently as a small business owner teaching voice and piano, Dane has encouraged and poured into his students to give their very best. Dane has not only impacted his students, but their families have been forever changed by his instruction and friendship.

As families who have been touched by Dane, we are collectively encouraged by the outpouring of love and support of many wanting to know how they can help Dane during this difficult time. While we know Dane is a very private person and would not be one to ask for help, those who have been blessed by Dane now have a chance to bless him in return.

As we thought of ways to help Dane, we all agreed that first and foremost Dane needs our prayers - prayers for a speedy and complete recovery. “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them”. Mathew 18:20

And while Dane would never ask, his next need would be financial support. If you are so inclined to donate, we have created a Go Fund Me Campaign. Dane’s road to recovery will take time, and the financial support will allow him to not worry about his out-of-pocket medical expenses and instead focus on his recovery. In addition, we know Dane will be eager to get back to his students and music, but in the meantime, we have a chance to give back to someone who has given back so much to others.

When donating, we ask that you also include a message so we can share it with Dane. We know that the love, prayers, and support from everyone will help Dane during his healing process.
