YWAM Mission Trip- Rescue and Restore

Helping others has always been extremely important to me, and any opportunity I get to tell others that they are loved and important, I take. I’ve always had this desire to pursue God on a deeper level, but never felt comfortable enough to do so. I’m what you would call a “home body” who doesn’t like change. I like to be in the know, and I also like comfort.
But, in January 2020, that all changed. I had just returned to my Aunt Jan’s house after hearing my cousin Caleb preach, I had this almost solace feeling wash over me after hearing his message. He and his wife Kate began to speak about their experiences while doing a DTS, (Discipleship Training School), and I felt this pulling sensation in my stomach. My heart felt like someone’s hand was grasping it and pulling it out the door, but the weirdest part, was I heard someone telling me “This is it. This is what you’re going to do,” but no one was speaking at the time. I was hesitant at first to admit that this was in fact God speaking to me, because I had asked numerous times for Him to do so, but never received any word from Him in the past. That indescribable feeling kept welling up inside me, and I couldn’t ignore it anymore. I pulled up my laptop, went to YWAM’S website, with the word “English” typed into the search engine. Within minutes, I found what I was being called to do. That pulling sensation turned into instant rejuvenation. This is what God was speaking to me about.
In September, I will be beginning the first of two phases of my Discipleship Training School, DTS. September to November will be my training portion in Madison, Wisconsin. During this time, I will be discovering what God is calling me to do by digging deeper into His Word, listening to guest speakers and their experiences in outreach and ministry, creating new friendships with my fellow peers and the staff residing at the base, and learning how the Almighty can take a person and use them in His canvas of love and grace.
Phase two will be the most exciting period and what I’m looking forward to the most. Once my training phase is complete, I will then decide what countries God is calling me to go to, to preach His Word and do His will on His behalf. Some countries this specific DTS has been to in the past are India, Uganda, Thailand, and Nepal. Outreach would specifically be focused on working with street kids, refugees, slum communities, and victims of human trafficking, all while preaching the Gospel to any who may hear.
YWAM Madison’s main goal for this mission is “to know God and make Him known.” I chose this specific DTS because it focuses on so many causes that I care so deeply about. From the brothels in India to the hilltribes of Myanmar, where young boys are being kidnapped and forced to become soldiers, there is cry for freedom needing to be answered. While on outreach, I will be faced firsthand what they actually need rescue and restoration from.
I am so excited about the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead, and all that God will use me for. As you can imagine, a trip like this requires lots of financial support from a number of people. I need to raise $8,000 by August 1st. As we give our tithes and offerings to our own churches, we are acknowledging that by giving freely to God, we receive freely from God. “One man gives freely yet gains even more” -Proverbs 11:24. If you can support me in a financial way, I would be so incredibly grateful. But, most importantly, I also need your prayer support. Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God's leading in ministry in these countries. Without prayer, nothing will happen.
While money is extremely important, it comes at a distant second to my need for support in prayer. If you are unable to give, please use this page as a reminder while I’m away to pray daily for all those who have not heard the goodness of God, and that He may use me to touch their hearts and fix their eyes onto Him. May God bless you.
