Help Majd finish his B.A. in Human Rights at STU
Donation protected
Hi. I’m Dr. Alexandra Bain and I am an associate professor at St. Thomas University in Atlantic Canada. My teaching assistant for the past three years has been Majd Mowahed, a young Syrian student working in the area of human rights. Majd’s refugee claim was accepted by Canada in October of last year and St. Thomas University granted him a special award, including a two year tuition waiver for those students who were coming from a war torn country. Unfortunately, the university’s funding has run out and they are not able to cover the tuition for the final two years that are required to complete his degree in human rights.
Majd works really hard to succeed in his dream of a STU degree in human rights. He works full time in a restaurant, as well as 10 hours a week as my teaching assistant. He barely earns enough to keep a roof over his head, plus buy food and other necessities of life. Left without money for tuition, Majd will have to postpone or even forgo his life’s dream!
Canada needs more human rights advocates. Majd is already contributing to his field through his extensive volunteer work with several non profit organizations, including Families Against Violent Extremism (Canada), Madaniya (France), and Better Hope organization (Syria).
Please consider making a contribution to Majd’s Tuition fund! Help him succeed and graduate with a B.A. in Human Rights!
Thank you so much for your help! Majd really appreciated it!
