Not many of you know the terrifying time our family went through over Christmas. Renelle’s brother, Shane was admitted to hospital and underwent open heart surgery on December 18th. He did not recover as expected and was kept sedated and on a ventilator for many weeks. After 65 days in the hospital, Shane has gone home. He has a long way to regain the strength and dexterity needed for every day tasks and it will be many more months before he can return to work. During the months Shane was in the hospital, his wife Lesley visited him twice a day or more while maintaining her job as her income was now the only one keeping them afloat. As you can imagine, they’ve gotten behind on their bills. We’d like to be able to help take some of the burden off of them if we can. We know Shane would be working if he could and will continue to work on getting himself strong enough to do so. If you can help, no matter how small, all donations add up and mean the world to someone who is struggling to get by. One thing I know about a small town community like Powell River is, people come together when asked. We appreciate your support.
