Hi, my name is Efstratios Giaouridis, I am 14 years old, and Jiu-Jitsu has become one of the most important parts of my life.
After years of training, learning, and pushing myself to improve, I have recently qualified for the 2026 Jiu-Jitsu World Championships in both Gi and No-Gi. When I first stepped onto the mats, I never imagined that one day I would have the chance to compete at this level. Every early morning, every tough training session, every loss, and every small improvement has led me to this opportunity.
Jiu-Jitsu has taught me that growth doesn’t come easy. It has shown me how to stay focused when things are difficult, how to respect my teammates and opponents, and how to keep going even when I feel tired or discouraged. The lessons I learn on the mats help me become stronger not only as an athlete, but also as a student and as a person.
I am very proud to train at Kalsamrit Martial Arts in Bowmanville, where my coaches and teammates push me to do my best and support each other like a family. They have helped me believe that with hard work and consistency, big goals are possible.
Competing at the World Championships is a dream opportunity, but travelling abroad to compete comes with significant costs, including flights, accommodation, registration fees, and competition expenses. My family is doing everything they can to support me, and I am incredibly grateful for everything they sacrifice so I can continue to train and compete.
I am asking for your support to help me make this journey possible.
Every contribution — big or small — helps bring me one step closer to representing my team and competing against some of the best young athletes in the world. Even sharing this page means so much and helps more people learn about my journey.
No matter the outcome, I promise to give my best effort, represent my team with respect, and continue working hard to improve every day.
Thank you for believing in me and being part of this journey.
