Efren’s scoliosis and studies in Culiacán

Hey everybody. My name is Efren Reyna from Mexicali, Mexico.

I recently moved to Tijuana because of a job offer as a necropsy technician after working in a morgue for 15 years in my hometown; in Tijuana, after experiencing crippling back pains for a while, I was diagnosed with scoliosis (see attached image).

After my petition to change to another department at work was rejected, I had to quit the morgue ; if I didn't change positions at my job, the aforementioned surgery would be inevitable, losing both my chance to get free healthcare and resources to look for physical therapy. The way in which my pain could be described is both a mixture of chronic pain and feeling constantly sore.

Obligated to look for alternatives, I was offered an opportunity to study anthropology at UAS (Autonomous University of Sinaloa), with the motive of specializing in my area and have better opportunities in the forensic field. Due to this being the second time that I move to another city in two years, I have little to no resources to do it in a safe manner.

With all of the things that were mentioned before, I see myself in the place of having to ask for help and support to carry on with the plans that I just described. Basically, I require physical therapy to correct my scoliosis problem, acquire a computer to use for my clases, as well as a safe way to move to Culiacan to study anthropology, starting in August. I would like to thank you for reading this to this point and anything to help me out would be of great help for this hard moment that I'm going through. Thank you all.

Hola a todxs. Mi nombre es Efrén Reyna y soy de Mexicali, México. Recientemente me mudé a la ciudad de Tijuana porque me ofrecieron una plaza como técnico en necropsias después de trabajar casi 15 años en morgue en mi ciudad natal; ya en Tijuana, después de experimentar dolor en mi espalda que me impedía realizar mis actividades diarias, me diagnosticaron con escoliosis. Al ser rechazada mi petición de cambio de departamento por mi padecimiento, me vi en la necesidad de renunciar a morgue

ya que si continuaba en dicha área la operación de mi espalda sería inevitable, quedándome al mismo tiempo sin seguro social ni recursos para buscar tratamiento físico. La forma en la que puedo describir mi padecimiento es el de un dolor crónico y una molestia constante.

Obligado a buscar alternativas, se me ofreció la oportunidad de estudiar Antropología en la UAS (Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa) con el fin de especializarme en mi área y así poder contar con mejores oportunidades en el ámbito forense. Siendo mi segunda mudanza a otra ciudad en menos de dos años, cuento con pocos recursos para hacerlo de manera segura.

Dicho lo anterior, me veo en la necesidad de solicitar su apoyo para poder llevar a cabo los planes que aquí describo. Básicamente, lo que requiero es recibir fisioterapia para mi problema de escoliosis, adquirir una computadora para usarla en mis clases universitarias, así como para mudarme de manera segura a Culiacán para estudiar Antropología a partir de agosto.
