**UPDATE**

Firstly, I want to extend my immense gratitude to everyone who as already donated. Thanks to all of you, I have been able to keep my rent paid, the power on and food in my kids bellies while I have been recovering. It has been a really traumatic past 3 months and the kindness you all have shown has made it so much easier to deal with. Thank you thank you thank you.

Unfortunately though, I have won this battle but the war continues...

Since leaving the burns unit I have been through 36 outpatient appointments and a second skin graft surgery to help part of my left arm heal. I have finally healed all of my wounds and have no dressings on anymore but have been left with major scarring, especially on my left arm.

Due to the depth of scarring I have constant pain in that arm and the surgeon wants me to start having laser treatments as soon as possible to minimise this. Unfortunately because of the size of the scar it means these have to be done under general anaesthetic meaning more time I am unable to work.

I have been back to work for the past 2 weeks but am only able to do light duties a couple of days a week.

These laser treatments, while necessary, are going to make it very difficult to get back into working full-time meaning I will be struggling to cover my bills again.

So, again, I am swallowing my pride and asking for help. Any donations will go directly towards covering my rent and bills and making sure my children are fed and clothed.

Any help at all will be appreciated immensely and will help me ride out this traumatic time in me and my kids lives and help us get back to being able to live a normal life.

Hi everyone! My name is Penelope, but everyone knows me as Penny. I am a dedicated single Mum to my two gorgeous kids and also a disability support worker.

Recently I was the target of malicious fire bomb attacks on my vehicle. The attacker didn't get the firebomb through the car window during the first attack and instead set my carport on fire. When I went outside to try and put the fire out, the spray paint cans I had near the vehicle exploded in my face. As a result of the explosion I've ended up with burns to 25% of my body including my face, neck, chest and arms. I required a 4.5hr surgery for skin grafts and required a blood transfusion. I spent 17 days in the Fiona Stanley Hospital burns unit in Perth.

To add insult to injury, while I was in hospital the attackers returned to finish the job. This time successfully burning out my vehicle leaving it as a total write off. This was while my 16 year old daughter was at home by herself. If my dog hadn't woken her up it could have been a lot worse.

Due to the extent of my burns I am not allowed to work for at least the next 6 weeks. I'll be required to wear compression garments for the next year to help with the scarring, but despite the garments I will be still be scarred for life.

I am originally from NZ but have called Australia home for almost 15 years. Unfortunately, being a Kiwi means the Australian Government has very few financial supports available to me. I have been granted a temporary benefit but it does not cover my rent, let alone any other monthly expenses.

I'm trying to raise funds to help me pay my rent and utilities and keep food on the table for my kids until I can get back to work. The funds will also go towards transport costs as I am driving the 100km+ round trip to Fiona Stanley Hospital twice a week for dressing changes and physio.

I'm just a Mum who's trying her best to keep going for her kids. Any help would be greatly appreciated
