Efan's golf journey

My name is Efan Rees and I'm 11 years old. I'm fundraising to help me pursue my dream of becoming a pro golfer.

In February 2020, I started playing golf and had no idea where the journey would take me. Fast forward 3 years and I've won a number of Junior Golfing events and have been selected to represent the County, playing for the Dyfed Golfing Union Junior Team. Highlights to date include being crowned the U10s Wales Golf Tour, Order of Merit winner and qualifying to play in the mini-masters Final at the Celtic Manor. This year I have competed on the US Kids South Wales Golf Tour. Due to my performance at these events, I have qualified to play in a number of events in America and across the globe. My dream one day is to be a pro-golfer, playing on the PGA Tour.

As my golfing journey has advanced, the cost of funding my dream has increased dramatically. My annual tournament entry fees amount to around £500.

I will be competing in the European Championships in Scotland in May 2023. Entry into the European Championship alone is $395, without travel expenses and overnight accommodation. I also hope to enter the British Championship in the summer, which will incur a similar entry fee.

The cost of new equipment is also very costly, and will inevitably need replacing as I'm still growing.
