New Jersey City University's Model United Nations are seeking help from everyone to attend the National Model United Nations Conference in Washington DC this Fall.
Model UN is an educational simulation and academic competition in which students learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. Model UN is an experience for individuals who want an enriched and practical simulation into the world of global politics. Model UN involves and teaches research, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities. NMUN conferences offer students the ability to try what its like to delegate and negotiate like many of heads of state do in committees found in the United Nations system. Although it is a simulation, students must not only stay in character, but also apply their critical thinking, team building, networking, and communications skills during the whole conference.
The goal of NMUN is to test the delegate’s ability to apply his knowledge of the country given to him and create a globalized and intertwined network to help improve society.
This year we are representing the country of Jamaica. As delegates, we conduct research before conferences and formulate positions that they will then debate with their fellow delegates in committee. With your help, you can help young leaders of today become leaders of tomorrow. Help us achieve our goal, and you can rest assure that your contribution will not only leave us with a wealth of experience, but a lifetime of possibilities to improve the quality of life in world we live in. We would like to thank everyone in advance for your support, time and consideration.
