As I am settling in at Fr. Wasson's Angels of Light Program with NPH Haiti, the staff and children have inspired me with their dedication, hard work and positive spirit. Working so hard with so little, has my wheels turning to think of how I can help make an impact, and also create new, exciting adventures for the kids. Since we all know, I love a plan... I've come up with one, but to make it happen, I need financial help.
FIELD TRIP and FIELD DAY
For St. Louis Homes - 102 Children Ages 8-16
I would like to take them in 3 groups of 30-35 kids to Fort Jacques, a national monument and park, on our way back will go to the Baptist Mission to see their gardens and have a sweet treat.
It's important for the kids to learn about the history of their country. It is also really important for them to leave the protective walls of FWAL from time to time. They need to interact with society so they are prepared for it when they graduate and move on.
For St. Anne Homes - 39 Children Ages 0-7
A full day adventure may be a little overwhelming for the little ones, but we can bring the adventure to them. I want to create a carnival/field day situation with face painting, races, water balloon fights, large group games and special snacks for them.
To make these fun filled days happen, I need to raise: $1,800
$1500 will cover the costs of transportation, food, park entrance fees, tour guide fees, and extra personnel salary for the field trip and $300 for the field day for the kids.
Any money I receive after that will go to an additional field Day and other toys to be given out for birthdays.
