Hello, my name is Marika Mamardashvili, and I’m a classical piano student from Georgia. After a few challenging months, I was fortunate to be accepted to the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus (RAMA) for my master’s. This moment marks a turning point in both my personal life and my musical growth.
Unfortunately, as a non-EU student from Georgia, I have no access to national funding or free education. Despite my professors’ strong support and all efforts to find scholarships, I now face a tuition fee of 114,500 DKK per year (around 175,000nok/15,000 euros)-an amount far beyond what I or my family can afford.
That’s why I’m reaching out for financial support to help me pursue my goals.
Music has been my path since childhood. Growing up in a country with limited support for the arts, I often changed teachers and had to work hard to finance even the most basic steps forward. But I never gave up, I’ve always been determined to develop my gift to the fullest. Every concert and masterclass has shaped my artistic voice, and I feel incredibly lucky to know what I want to dedicate my life to.
With grit and the help of some scholarships, I was able to study in Norway through the Erasmus exchange program, and I am now continuing at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark. These international experiences opened my eyes to what is possible when you’re in an environment that supports, challenges, and inspires you.
During my exchange at RAMA, I’ve discovered a truly open and creative environment that encourages experimentation and supports each student’s unique artistic path. It’s a place where I have access to concert halls and recording studios, and the freedom to grow as an artist beyond traditional boundaries throughout my master’s studies.
If you are able to support me, whether through a donation or simply by sharing my story, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for reading and for standing beside me!
