Hey, my name is Elisabeth Ayers and I'm 23 years old. Most of you will know me by EeveeA. 

TL;DR: This fundraiser is for my medical transition as health insurance will not cover most big costs such as surgeries. The funds will go towards (simply): General medical fees for transition, Gender Confirmation Surgery, and Vocal Feminization Surgery.

I think while there's a lot to say, I don't want to bore you all too much so I'll try to keep it concise. 

As many of you know I am transgender and identify as a trans woman. While transitioning socially may not cost anything, transitioning legally and medically can cost a lot. For trans people with gender dysphoria, transitioning medically can be vital for mental and even physical health. So for me this is what I have needed for over 15 years in order to be myself and not suffer from gender dysphoria. 

This  fundraiser is for my transition, and more specifically enabling me to transition medically the things that cause me the most pain, and for me that's my genitals and my voice. One of the key issues is that while health insurance may cover many smaller costs for medical needs, such as medications, they generally won't cover most surgeries and the ones they do they don't cover all of it. They often will categorize things as "medically necessary" or "aesthetic", but the issue is that if something causes gender dysphoria and a medical solution that they categorize as "aesthetic" can ease that dysphoria, then it is by that definition medically necessary to reduce that suffering.

So this goal aims to cover the things that insurance will not cover which are, generally speaking: My health insurance itself, Electrolysis for permanent hair removal on the surgical site,  Gender Confirmation Surgery and all the things that come with it, Tracheal Shave, Vocal Feminization Surgery, A teacher for voice training, and Electrolysis for my face.

That covers the things that cause me the most dysphoria, and that hold me back from being able to function most days. 

There are many many other things I wish I could put here that I need eventually, but they cost a significant amount of money and for lack of better explanation have a "diminishing return" on how much they would help me personally, even if they will help a lot, just not as much as the things listed above will. Examples of those being Facial Feminization Surgery(FFS), and Breast Augmentation(BA). 

FFS is the most expensive thing I need done eventually to undo what testosterone has done to it and it would alleviate a lot of dysphoria, but that's not the goal of this fundraiser. If we go past out goal then anything past it will go towards those surgeries.
