Jen's Fight!

In August 2019, my sister Jennifer Kowal was diagnosed with a rare form of Stage 1 cervical cancer. Recently, due to testing and insurance delays, the doctors have discovered that the cancer is growing and has now doubled in size and considered to be Stage 2.
On Sept. 30, 2019, she will begin a hard journey of chemo and radiation to destroy the cancer growing inside her. We pray this treatment is successful so she can get back to her daily life as a wife, mother, sister, daughter, colleague and much more.
To say this woman - a very engaged mother and wife, a Director of a Non-profit and CrossFit athlete - is brave is THE understatement of the year. Jen continues to work, be a mom to her 2 amazing children Luke (3yrs) & Korrine (6yrs), wife to her husband Bruce, workout, and still is still able to focus on her treatment and recovery. She has been doing everything she can with self-care - diet, exercise, meditation, spending time with loved ones and friends and able to live a healthy and balanced life as possible. On top of this, she is still finding the time to take Korrine to her gymnastics classes twice a week, soccer practices twice a week, and soccer games on Saturdays, which brings the most joy to her right now.
This girl is impossible not to want to help!
She plans to as much as possible, but right now the most important thing for her is to take care of her health with as little stress as possible. This obviously includes financial stress.
Medical bills are coming in fast and we want the last thing for Jen and Bruce to worry about is the financial burden from this unforeseen sickness.
Jen is going to be receiving 5 chemo treatments AND 5 days a week for 10 weeks of harsh radiation, there for frequent appointments, but again it's also time-consuming. So anything you can do to help make Jen's life easier will go a long way in helping her return to normal life. As normal as living with cervical cancer can ever be!
Although we know Jen will courageously fight to triumph against this horrible disease, our family unfortunately knows all too well, we want to do anything and everything we can to battle the fight alongside her and ensure she gets the best treatment possible.
For those who love and know Jennifer, she is very strong mentally and physically, is always there to help someone else in need, but will never ask a favor in return.
Any donation amount, large or small, makes a big difference in supporting this wonderful young woman’s life and recovery is much appreciated.
She has been very open and public about her fight, often sharing candid stories that both inspire and leave you in tears. You can follow her story as she continues to battle stage 2 cervical cancer Facebook at Jen’s Fight : https://www.facebook.com/Jens-Fight-113880773344116/?tn-str=k*F .
