EEO Bahamas

From building sandcastles on Pink Sands Beach to watching the sunset from Ramora Bay, Harbour Island is a place where many of us have created lifelong friendships and memories with our families. While this hidden gem spans only 3.5 miles in length, there are 400 students on the island, 60 of which are being served by a phenomenal organization: Exceptional Education Outreach (EEO) Bahamas.

EEO is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization that partners with the Bahamian Ministry of Education to create a sustainable special education program for children across Eleuthera and Harbour Island. They do this by providing direct services to students with special needs, equipping local teachers, parents, and volunteers with skills and materials to assess students and remediate learning challenges, and funding and organizing professional health and allied healthcare assistance to underserved students. They have also established an on-site nutritional program and conduct routine hearing exams.

In January and October 2023, I will run both a half-marathon and a marathon to raise money to benefit EEO and the students of Harbour Island (39.3 miles). My goal is to raise $10,000 to partially cover the Harbour Island teacher's stipend, and any donation will make a difference.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that serves a community that means the world to me. For additional information on EEO's 2021-2022 impact, please visit this link.
