I am sitting here debating on starting a Go Fund Me and thinking about how this happened to me. I’m Brandy, 48 female from Southern California … Well, I’ll tell you, by a fluke I found a lump in my armpit and didn’t think much of it. After countless appointments, I had it checked and was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I had no idea what any of this meant. Now, what?? 48 years old, have three kids and never had a mammogram; shame is what I felt, sadness, darkness and begging the Lord to please spare my life. The stress was turning into physical pain. My household has been turned upside down. I had to pull it up and remember the strong person I was before letting the C-word drag me into the darkness. I’ve never felt scared to die until now, Although I know that if it’s my time, that’s it. But I have three kids that need me, and I can’t imagine leaving them in this type of pain, so my only option is to battle.
I’ve been working my entire life and will be away from my job for close to a year. So, I’m hoping to raise money to help us make it as I’m the main supporter of my family. But, the amount of copays and out-of-pocket expenses is unreal.
I will have five months of chemo, surgery then 12 weeks of radiation. After that, my hair will fall out My life will be forever changed, and I will beat this. I want to thank everyone for their love, prayers and donations. I CAN DO THIS !!! Although my journey is just beginning, I am grateful and humbled by any help.
