Life gives us good days, some bad and some days that leave scars for eternity. Those moments we never imagined would ever occur. December 27th, 2022 a call was placed notifying the family that our precious Solomon Elijah Byrd known by those who love him as "Prada" aka "Dooda" was a victim of Gun violence. He was taken to a nearby hospital where all efforts went into effect in an attempt to save his life. Elijah fought as hard as his body would allow but on January 11, 2023, his body endured all it could and we would say our goodbyes. That is news no loved one is prepared for. He was just 15 years old still striving to be something in life besides being an avid gamer who participated in tournaments for fun winning prizes for his success in doing so. During the summer he was working in social media programming, learning more about digital tech with the Japanese youth counsel center, and participating in the black student movement. We are left with the unknown while detectives are actively investigating to rule out if this was accidental or a homicide. We have been notified of the individuals in need procedures were successful. This all has been overwhelming and we need support to lay him down to rest. As we grieve we are left with expenses that need to be covered to make this happen and support his mother and father in this tragic time of need.
