Hello! My name is Juliana.. As difficult as it is for me to start this campaign, it has become crucial that I seek help for my sweet dog, Bella. Many people will say that their pets are like family, and I will whole-heartedly agree.. Bella IS MY FAMILY. Her smile and disposition bring warmth and love to even the coldest person on the street. Snuggling and treats are all that she desires in this life, and in return she gives joy, comfort, and unconditional love. I can't imagine life without her, and it's for that reason that I need funding to save her.
Two weeks ago, Bella came down with a "fever of unexplained origin". The SFSPCA immediately admitted her into the ER and proceeded to do every test imaginable to find out what was causing the fever and lethargy. After 5 days in the hospital, the only red flag they found was that her white blood cell count was dangerously low. They sent her to a specialist at the SF VCA for additional testing, including an invasive bone marrow asperit.
Several days later, her fever came down enough for us to bring her home. But the lethargy, lack of eating, and constant shaking told us she wasn't getting better.
The doctors still do not know what is wrong with Bella. They are reqesting that we do even more invasive tests, including more xrays and ultrasounds.
Bella's Medical Care has reached about $7,600. Included in this total;
Emergency Office Visits, numerous CBCs (complete blood count), Electorlytes, Urinalysis, X-Rays, Radiological Consultations, Continuous IV fluids, Day/Night Hospitalization (5 nights), Anitbiotics, Catheter, Cytology (blood smear), Biohazard Fees, Ultrasound Internist, Urine Culture and Sensitivity, Cystocentesis Ultrasound, Canine Tick Borne Profile, Bone Marrow Aspirate & Cytology, & Medications.... to name a few.
I would do anything to keep Bella alive and find an answer for her symptoms. The doctors are still baffled by her case. Which means the journey has only begun.
