Stroke awareness month

Around this time last year some of you may know that my mum unfortunately suffered numerous strokes.

She went from being perfectly fine to not being able to walk or move the left side of her body. It’s been a long 12 months and the progress she has made from that point has been unbelievable. Learning how to walk properly again and now fighting hard to be able to move her arm properly to what it once was. The biggest challenge is to improve her speech and cognitive thinking. This is a side effect of having a stroke where you struggle talking and getting your words out.

My mum would like to give back to the amazing people who looked after her by setting her biggest challenge yet. This may not seem massive to some however she is looking to raise money for the stroke association by walking to the top of Rivington pike. From someone who couldn’t move there body properly to getting up to the top will be a huge achievement for her.

We sometimes take short walks but nothing on this stage. We will be doing this on the 24th may starting at rivi brewery up to the top and back down for a cold pint if anyone would like to join feel free!

Day may change weather depending according to my mum

Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of The Stroke Association and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
More information about The Stroke Association: Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke, which can leave survivors unable to move, see, speak, or even swallow. With strength, determination and the right support, recovery is possible. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families. It’s only thanks to the generosity of our supporters and donors that we can provide that vital support.
