On August 24, 2024, a fun day at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, turned into an unimaginable tragedy for the Ángeles Rosendo family. Edwin Iván Gonzales Rosendo, a vibrant and joyful young man, tragically lost his life in an accident at sea.

That afternoon, around 5:20 p.m., Edwin and his cousin Edgar were caught in a powerful current. Despite the quick and brave efforts of rescue teams and beach patrol, while they were able to save Edgar, Edwin sadly went missing. Despite relentless search efforts by the Coast Guard, police, and firefighters, Edwin's body was found the next day, August 25.

Edwin was known for his cheerful nature, bright smile, and kind heart. He lived with his aunt, who lovingly cared for him and his two siblings after their parents couldn’t be with them in the U.S. The loss of Edwin has been a devastating blow to his family, who are now facing an incredibly difficult time.
