Edwin Arley Rengifo Villa
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
In memory of my dear friend Edwin, who suddenly and tragically passed away this week, I am asking for donations to cover his medical bills from the past two months. About two months ago, Edwin suffered debilitating seizures that left him in a month long, medically induced coma. When awoken from the coma, Edwin showed signs of serious brain damage and remained in intensive care.
Edwin passed away peacefully this Tuesday morning, June 4th 2019, after this short but devastating illness. Edwin was a really close friend of mine with whom I shared many special moments here in Medellin. We went on hikes together, he taught me how to dance, we loved to share our languages with each other, and became close exploring the city together. Edwin loved to try new dance moves, organize pick-up soccer games with his friends, write poetry in his free time, and volunteer with underprivileged children.
Edwin was pursuing a career in Computer Science, studying with a scholarship at the very prestigious and private University EAFIT (where I also took classes). He was an extremely hard working student and excelled in his English classes -- he had plans of coming to visit me in Boston as soon as he could get a Visa. This year, Edwin went on his first job interview and was contracted to begin his first paying job, starting June 17th 2019.
Edwin was the definition of integrity, courage, and kindness. Always able to lift our spirits, he graced our lives with love and laughter. Edwin will be missed but lovingly remembered by his Father Jose Luis Rengifo, mother Marleni Villa, brother Jimy and younger sister.
The family is politely asking for donations to help cover the medical bills for Edwin's treatment over the past two months. From the bottom of their hearts they thank you for any donation you can provide.
Edwin’s family and friends thank God for gifting us with an angel for the past 20 years, and his legacy carries on in the memories and hearts of us all. He showed great love to all who knew him and we know he will always be with us. Please help me honor Edwin’s memory with a contribution to this fund that will help ease his family’s financial burden. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart - anything you can donate will make a difference.
