My dog 'Edward' is a happy, kind guy who spends his days with me  working on a horse farm. Unfortunately, on Thursday May 23rd, someone decided to shoot at him while he was wandering the back of the property. I found him laying in the brush and quickly took him to an emergency vet.

Once at the vet they informed that he was bleeding heavily internally and that I could either elect to do the surgery that would save his life or put him down and end his suffering. Not being ready to let go of my best friend, I knew I needed to give him a chance at surviving.

After a two hour long surgery to repair the damage the bullet caused to his intestines and spleen, he spent another two days in the clinic to ensure he was recovering and was no longer bleeding. Once he was stable he also needed another surgery to recover the bullet laying under his skin. Because of the unexpected length and extent of the surgery and recovery, the bill has far exceeded the original quote, and although I know it was the right decision, I am now struggling to pay an overwhelming vet bill for my best friend.
