Psalm 103: 2-4
“Praise the Lord, my soul,
And forget not all his benefits-
who forgives all your sins
And heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion”

Dear Family and friends,

Our brother, Edward, whom we fondly call, Ted, is a loving husband, father, son, brother, cousin and uncle. He was strong, full of life and a friend to many. He works as an operating room/surgical tech and loves his job. It is then farthest from our minds that a few days after working a full day’s shift in the OR, that we would be holding his hand in ICU while connected to a ventilator.

A week and a half ago, our 49 year-old brother presented with flu-like symptoms, which worsened after a couple of days. He was febrile and complained of severe headache, neck and chest pains. He was admitted in the hospital with a diagnosis of Meningitis. However, on January 26, 2017, he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke secondary to septicemia (infection in the blood) which left him paralyzed on his right side. The resulting clot was the size of a tennis ball located around the visual-language center. We do not know if this clot has affected his vision or understanding but we do know that the road to recovery will be long and hard for his family.

Eleanor (Norie), our sister-in-law, is now faced with a difficult task of providing for Ted’s care and their family’s daily needs. With their two income family now reduced to one income and the limitations of their health coverage,

We (his sisters) are asking first, for your prayers. Please pray for God’s Healing Hand to be upon Ted and a miraculous healing to occur.

Secondly, a financial gift to help defray medical costs of long term care and rehabilitation. Any amount that you can give is truly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and generosity towards our brother and his family.

Words are not enough to express our appreciation for your help through prayers and financial assistance but we pray that the Lord will continue to bless you as you bless Ted and his family.

As another option from this website, you may write a check payable to Eleanor D. Pizarro and mail to Ted’s sister, Lani
