Edward Martinez (Captain Treville)
Donation protected
My father, Edward, has been a carpet installer for 42 years, and this physically demanding career has taken quite a toll on his body, namely his shoulders. Over the last few years, he’s undergone steroid injections, nerve ablations, and countless OTC pain relievers to make it through the workday. His shoulders now lack virtually all cartilage and are rubbing bone to bone. He recently had his first shoulder replacement surgery on October 17th, leaving him out of work for six months while he recovers. He will also undergo surgery on his other shoulder in April of 2024. He will be out of work for almost a year with all the rigorous rehabilitation involved. While his insurance covers medical expenses, it does not help with other expenses such as rent, food, utilities, etc. He hoped to save a good amount of money for said expenses. However, he was hospitalized this past June for a few days due to kidney failure, which was a significant financial setback. This unfortunate event left them dealing with ongoing sickness, and he has been unable to work as much as he would have liked. While my brother and I are helping as much as possible, we hope to raise some money to alleviate some of his financial stress.
