My father, Edward Courtney Benefield, passed away peacefully this afternoon of December 1st in his own home surrounded by his family. He was 88.
My father was a hard working man his entire life, and as tough as nails, but was as kind and gentle as befitting someone so strong. Never one to complain, he was a man of few words, but often stressed to always 'be nice to each other.'

My mom and dad never had a lot of money, but they provided whatever they could for us. On top of this they also took in foster children and nurtured them for future life.

My father was in and out of the hospital for many months leading up to his passing, but fought through several life threatening diagnoses.
Your contribution to this fund will help with my father's medical bills and final arrangements, as well as helping my mother with her future needs. My mother will handle the funds.
