Educational fundraising for Yifei Huang's daughter

Yifei HUANG was diagnosed with lung cancer in March 2022, when he was just 39. He passed away in October 2023. He was a talented computational biologist who did his PhD with Brian Golding at McMaster University in Canada, and was a postdoc with Adam Siepel at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. At the time of his diagnosis, he had just started his own laboratory as a tenure-track Assistant Professor at Penn State University and obtained major funding (an R35 MIRA grant) from the National Institutes of Health. He was a beloved father, husband, son, but also an incredible mentor, collaborator, and colleague. Yifei is survived by his wife Hui and their 7-year old daughter, Eva. Eva is good at math and would like to learn programming. Yifei had no time to establish an educational account for Eva, but he wanted her to go to Penn State when she grows up. We are raising funds for Eva’s in-state tuition at Penn State.
